When we think of spas we think of relaxation and feel-good vibes. When we think of facials, we think of healthy-looking and glowing skin. That is exactly what this easy green tea facial steam will do!
Remember our tea bag beauty cures post? Here’s another one to add to the list.
You will need:
- Cooking pot
- Green Tea Leaves or green tea bags
- Essential oils
- Hair ties and/or headbands
Step 1: Clean canvas. Make sure to clean your face. This way the steam will effectively open your pores.
Step 2: Boil. Bring about 4 cups of water to a boil and add the green tea bags or green tea leaves and let it steep until the water is the tea’s green-yellow color.
Step 3: Oil up. Remove the cooking pot/saucepan and add ONLY 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Step 4: Pony up. Use the hair ties to put your hair in a ponytail or bun and the headband if you have bangs. You want to have your hair away from your face.
Step 5: Build a fort. For the steam to have the full effect, lean over the saucepan or pot and put a towel over your head. If the steam is too hot, let some steam out and then proceed. Let them steam open your pores for five or ten minutes.
Step 6: Tone. After the five or ten minutes, rinse your face with cool water. PAT dry and apply a toner.
The green tea’s antioxidants will help you obtain a healthy and dewy glow and the essential oils will help you relax.
As with all facials, homemade or not, try this as little as once or twice a week.
