Basil is one of the most beautiful natural greens we’ve ever come across. It is absolutely delicious to eat, has it’s own herbal health benefits, and adds a pretty color to any dish! As amazing as basil can be as a food, it has a wealth of skincare benefits too! If you already have a face wash and/or mask that you can’t live without, use the recipes below to “spice” your routine up once in a while!
Rinse a cup of fresh basil leaves then go ahead and crush them to release their natural oils. You can use a mortar and pestle or your hands. Once it has created a paste you can mix the basil paste with a little bit of water, to create a face wash, apply and rinse.
Or you can create a face mask by adding 1 teaspoon of plain, organic yogurt. Sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
The basil’s natural oils help to lighten dark spots and the vitamins in the yogurt promote circulation as well as prevent acne.
