CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: MET GALA 2014 – Beyonce

beyonce met gala 2014In celebration of throwback Thursday, we went back to find a fave celeb beauty look that we would love to recreate.

With fall around the corner, the dark lip colors  are back in style and we couldn’t be any happier.

Beyonce wore a 20s-style headdress which led her and her makeup artist, Francesca Tolot, to go for a beauty look that was retro, modern, and bold all in one.

STEP 1: Begin with a primer. It’s important to create a smooth, blank canvas for a flawless finish.

STEP 2: Follow with concealer and foundation. For those in more humid areas, you can use a BB Creme instead to achieve that even skin tone while allowing your skin to breathe if concealer and foundation is too heavy for the climate that you live in.

STEP 3: Apply an illuminating powder.

STEP 4: Because we want the main focus to be the dark lip, keep the eyes light. Beyonce had a golden shadow. It was applied to the eye area beneath her lashes and above it all the way to her brows. Blend outwards.

STEP 5: Add light color to your cheeks. Opt for a bronzer that has a bit of shimmer  on the apples of your cheeks, forehead and bridge of your nose.

STEP 6: Apply black mascara and curl your lashes.

STEP 7: The beauty look closer – the dark lip. Use a lip primer or prep with a lip balm. In order to prevent your lip color from feathering or bleeding, line lips with a clear lip liner. Apply the wine colored lipstick.

Perfect for a night on the townor dinner party, it is a low maintenance look that would look great paired with neutral colored outfits (nude dress anyone?).
