How to: Get the Best Halloween Look with Just Makeup

With Halloween mere days away, it’s time to finalize your costume plans. The only problem? You aren’t quite sure what you want to wear. Thank goodness for makeup—that almighty tool that’s capable of transforming your look from plain Jane to plain fabulous in just minutes. If you’re thinking sweet and simple, there are plenty of options for you. But if you’re envisioning something artful that would make Picasso envious, you’re destined to find hundreds of ideas, too. Here are just a few ways to get the Halloween look that you want—only with makeup!

Ice Queen

You don’t have to be a five-year-old to appreciate the ethereal looks spotted in Frozen years ago. You can easily make that magical look your own by icing up your lids, lashes, and brows with shimmery white hues. Make it work by running the Tweezerman Folding iLashcomb through your lashes first, setting the stage for a plush white mascara and allows your peepers to stand out. Add a generous dusting of Jane Iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow  in white to your lids and over your eyebrows. The result? Brrr! You look hot for someone so cold.

Easy Giraffe

Yep, we’ve moved from cheetahs to giraffes. And we’re absolutely here for it—it’s a fun, playful look that anyone can pull off using just a few key items. First, bring your eyes to life using copious amounts of black liner. Try a liquid formula so that it remains budge-proof throughout the night—we’re particularly loving the Youngblood Liquid Liner Pen . Then curl, curl, curl! Your lashes need to stand out because, well, you’ll never meet a giraffe without a serious lash game. Clamp down with Tweezerman’s Super Curl Eyelash Curler , and finish with multiple coats of bareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara . Get those telltale spots using your choice of bronzer or body makeup. Don’t forget to add a pair of ears!

Zombie Girl

When else can you really rock bloody lips and dead eyes but Halloween? Make the most of the occasion by vamping up your makeup. Try a deep, rich lip color that saturates your pout with something brazen—think Youngblood Kranberry or Bistro lipstick . Get those dark, dramatic eyes by lining with TIGI Cosmetics Precision Black Eyeliner. Apply some false lashes to really elevate your look, then apply multiple coats of Glo Skin Beauty Lash Lengthening Mascara for extra oomph. Precisely applied pale makeup is the key to a seriously effective zombie look. We’re wild about Dermablend Flawless Creator  for its staying power. Finish with strategically applied reddish, dark, and gray color around your eyes, and a few drops of “blood” trailing from your lips down your neck.

Feeling adventurous? Let your imagination take control this Halloween! You’ll find an amazing selection of color cosmetics to help you achieve a look that’s sure to win “best costume” awards and turn heads all night. Whether you’re going for wild, wacky, or wondrous, you’re sure to find what you need at TheBeautyPlace.com.

Pop Art Makeup for Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner and I know you want to win the costume game this year! What about trying something different this year with a Pop Art Make Up to take your spooky look to the next level. Trust me, it is easier than you think.

Prep: Flawless Face with Heavy Blush: prepare your skin as you normally do. But this time, go heavier on your blush since it is going to show up through all the dots you will be adding later on. The Jane Iredale In Touch Cream Blush ($17.99) will give you flawless application in one easy swoops.

Use some yellow eye shadow –very bright yellow eye shadow – and apply it to your eyelids and slightly beyond the inside corners. The heavier you go on this, the better! The Tigi Cosmetics HD Quad Eye shadow ($19.99) can help you to get that bright effect, perfect for the pop art costume!

Now, apply black eye shadow to the outside creases using an angled shadow brush to create a large slightly smudgy wing tip. Then blend a white eye shadow on your brow bones to highlight the look and give it an extra pop of dimension. The Jane Iredale Eye shadow Kit ($38.99) has both the black and white colors you need to slay this look!

Use the white Jane Iredale Eye Pencil ($10.99) to create a white line along your lower lash line. This is going to give the illusion of having a larger eyeball and now, with the black eye pencil, draw a new faux lower lash line below the white line you just made.

Before finishing your eyes, create a more dramatic look with really intense brows, for this, use a black eyeliner like the Youngblood Eyeliner ($7.99) Remember, you are not going to the movies with this make up, it is a Halloween costume so it is suppose to look over dramatic. Don’t forget to go big with your mascara and apply a few coats of the bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara – Black ($16.99).

For the lips, make a statement using the Tigi Cosmetics Decadent Lipstick in color “Honesty” ($12.99) Again, use white to give a highlight that will really complete your cartoon-like look. To finish the lip, outline in black, allowing the lines to taper off on the center of your lower lip line.

Now, the dots!! Using white paint, apply small dots all over your face. Now, Draw black lines to create your cheekbones and side of your nose using the black cream pod. This is going to finalize that two-dimensional character vibe.
