The Easiest Celebrity Morning Routines

It is no secret that the most successful people in the world, celebrities included, are early risers—some even wake up as early as 5:00 AM like Jennifer Aniston! Getting out of bed while it is still dark out is definitely the challenge, but it allows people to get ready at their own pace and also get a quick workout session in before the day starts. While a lot of celebrities say that meditation and coffee is an essential start to their day, skincare products are what they really cannot live without. To get inspired, we have found the top celebrity morning routines that are surprisingly simple and therapeutic so you can also take on the day like a star.

Cleanse with an herbal face wash

Before starting her makeup routine in the morning, Kate Bosworth cleanses her face with an herbal cleanser because it is gentle and natural. We recommend using Neova’s Herbal Wash  as it is a soap-free, gentle wash that works well at removing any oil and debris from the night before. Formulated with chamomile extract to help decongest clogged pores and peppermint oil to soothe the skin, this cleanser is especially great for sensitive, acne-prone skin types.

Put on a cold sheet mask

If your skin is looking particularly dull when you wake up, do what Mindy Kaling does and use a sheet mask in the morning! Decleor’s Aroma White C+ Intensive Brightening Sheet Mask instantly rejuvenates the skin by adding luminosity and decreasing hyperpigmentation. For an added bonus, chill the mask in the fridge like Mindy before applying. Using a cold product on your face will tighten the skin and brighten the complexion by boosting circulation so it is a win-win.

Use a different mask each morning

When you are more crunched for time, sheet masks may not fit into your schedule so opt for a regular face mask like Martha Stewart. Even though she accomplishes a lot in the morning, she always has time for a face mask. Martha told the New York Times that she puts one on every morning for five days a week, but she never repeats the same mask two days in a row. She uses a variety of face masks, from firming to gel to collagen, so we recommend trying out Peter Thomas Roth’s Meet Your Mask Kit  since it offers six different masks in total. It includes a purifying mud mask, a detoxifying cucumber gel mask, a rose stem cell repair mask, a pumpkin dermal resurfacing mask, a 24k gold firming mask, and an algae hydrating mask so can tackle any skin problems throughout the week.

Roll out those puffy eyes

Even though it seems like celebrities wake up flawless, do not be fooled. They deal with puffy eyes like the rest of us do, which is why they have a fool-proof weapon: a Jade Roller . Lea Michele, among many other celebrities, uses this tiny tool religiously to get rid of puffy eyes, as it reduces inflammation via lymphatic drainage. Use it cold to reduce swelling even quicker. It will make you look and feel more alert in the morning, helping you to put your best foot forward.

The Dos and Don’ts of Dealing with Hair Loss

Dealing with the sudden onset of hair loss can be both alarming and stressful. You may worry about whether it’s related to a health condition, or spend all of your time researching the benefits of shampoos and treatments designed to reverse the problem. First things first: Stressing won’t help, and may make you feel worse. Remember that it’s not an uncommon problem, either—the American Hair Loss Association estimates that women account for approximately 40% of sufferers in the United States.

So what can you do about the problem? It’s important to understand the root cause of the problem. Temporary loss may be due to illness or medication, and might resolve with time. Excessive loss of hair, however, could be due to a specific medical condition known as alopecia. Only a doctor can properly diagnose this and provide you with a solution. That said, there are things that you can do—and avoid—to help the situation. Here’s what you should know.

DO:

Treat your hair gently using products that are formulated to stimulate hair growth. A sulfate-free formula, such as Toppik Hair Building Shampoo, not only enhances volume but also protects color-treated strands from fading. Use it regularly to see results. To build on your results, try Toppik Hair Fattener , a leave-in conditioner that is formulated to plump the hair shaft and leave your mane softer and more manageable.

Adjust your diet as needed. There’s a reason behind the old “you are what you eat” adage, after all. Protein-rich foods are essential, because they promote strength and encourage keratin production. Salmon and avocado are both excellent additions that add a nutritious boost to any diet. Low levels of iron and vitamin D2 may also be to blame for your hair loss. A blood test can confirm that, but in the meantime you can bulk up on spinach, eggs, and cheese to see a difference. Try: Bosley Supplement for Women – 60 count

DON’T:

Spending all your time stressing out can be truly detrimental to your physical and emotional health. In fact, it could be part of the reason your hair is suddenly shedding. Of course, it’s hard to simply cut your anxiety—but you can embrace a few self-care habits to reduce those feelings. Try meditating at night before bed, for example, or go for a peaceful walk to clear your mind. It’s the little things that count, and they all add up to a happier and healthier you.

Overstyling your hair can also be problematic in the long run. While it’s tempting to experiment with styles in an effort to minimize the appearance of hair loss, all that fussing might actually weaken your strands further. Keep it simple by using Wet Brush Detangle Professional to smooth out your strands in the shower and avoid the unnecessary tugging and tangling that usually happens when you’re styling.

How to Get the Kardashian Glow for the Summer

From reality tv stars to beauty moguls, the Kardashians are known for their ultra glam makeup looks. Aside from their signature lashes, you’ll always find them sporting a highlight that looks like they’ve been bathed in a halo of light. Well, we’ve done our research and found the few key products you’ll need to create a fresh, luminous glow that would even impress the highlight and contour queen herself, Kim Kardashian West.

First things first, you’ll need to prep the skin with an ultra-hydrating moisturizer. Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream ($35.99) helps lock in moisture since it’s formulated with 30 percent hyaluronic acid, which keeps skin supple and plump for 72 hours. You can choose to wear a primer on top or skip it completely like Kim does.

When it comes to foundation, use one that gives a radiant finish like Glo Skin Beauty’s Luminous Liquid Foundation ($47.99). This lightweight mineral foundation is infused with both diamond powder and green tea extract to make it look like you’re glowing from within. Apply some of the foundation on your neck as well so there’s no harsh line. Dab the product into the skin with a KKW-approved BeautyBlender ($15.99) sponge that’s been dampened for the most flawless streak-free finish.

Complete the base by applying Jane Iredale’s Active Light Under Eye Concealer ($24.99) under your eyes, on the bridge of your nose and the cupid’s bow to brighten up your face. The concealer also works as a highlighter so it creates a soft-focused effect that will amp up the glow.

Lightly dust Karin Herzog’s Egyptian Earth Finishing Powder ($35.99) over the t-zone to set the base. The powder evens and illuminates the skin, providing it with a long-lasting radiant finish. Now time to bake in true Kardashian fashion with BareMinerals Barepro Contour Face Shaping Trio ($30.99). Apply the lightest color in the areas you want to be highlighted—so under the eyes and on the middle of the nose, chin, and forehead. Let it sit on your face for a few minutes, then dust it off. Use the medium color to bronze the skin and the darkest color to contour.

Once you’re done, bring some color back into your face with
Jane Iredale’s In Touch Cream Blush ($17.99). Use your fingers to apply the product onto your cheek and then blend it in with the BeautyBlender. The creamy formula blends effortlessly into your skin—not to mention it also smells like chocolate.

Then glide BareMinerals Highlighter Stick ($18.99) on the highest part of your cheekbones. This oil-free highlighter is infused with Mineral Moonbeam Essence that mimics how light reflects off crystals, which gives your cheeks an ethereal, multidimensional look. Feel free to also dab some on your cupid’s bow and tip of the nose if you love the shine. To make your eyes look bigger and brighter, apply Jane Iredale’s Eye Highlighter Pencil ($11.99) along the inner corner, waterline, and brow bone. And voilà, you’re ready to keep up with the Kardashians all summer long.

Get the Look: 2018 Grammys Edition

To die for? Oh, yes. This year’s Grammy Awards were more than just a celebration of music, but also a tribute to sultry, seductive beauty and adventurous, out-of-the-box looks. We tapped into the genius minds of beloved makeup artists to find out exactly how to make some of those fabulous looks yours—with a few of your favorite products from TheBeautyPlace.com.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora dazzled the red carpet with her Ralph & Russo dress. The songstress is known for her brow-raising fashion, and this year’s style was a seeming homage to sexy old-world starlets who knew exactly how to bring the drama. The stunning complement to her sexy black dress was a bold plum lip that paired bea
utifully with her flawless complexion and luminous glow. Make it your own just like this:

Go heavy on the lips. We love Glo Minerals Lipstick ($12.99) in Cabaret for its bright finish and hydrating formula. Use it to perk up your pout and give your face the awards-
worthy look you’re envisioning. Of course, dramatic eyes play well into that old Hollywood look so many of us love. Jane Iredale’s Eyeshadow Kit ($38.99) in Smoke Gets In Your Eyes contains a breathtaking combination of brightening sheers and dramatizing darks to really play things up.

Another key product that makeup artist Kathy Jeung relied on was highlighter, which helped enhance Ora’s already fabulous complexion with a lit-from-within glow. Swipe Jane Iredale In Touch Highlighter ($20.99) in Complete over cheekbones and brow bones to accent areas that the sun naturally hits. You’ll look fresh even on the longest nights! A pop of color helps boost your fresh factor, too—Jeung used a cream to warm up Ora’s face. We love Youngblood Luminous Crème Blush ($20.99) in Luxe.

Janelle Morae

Taking a cue from Twiggy, makeup artist Jessica Smalls gave Janelle Monae a truly unique red carpet look. The star’s stunning floral tux alone was enough to turn heads, but it was her glowing makeup that really got the attention of beauty aficionados. Here’s how to do it yourself

Even from afar, her gleaming skin was visible. To achieve the look, Smalls steamed Monae’s skin before mixing foundation with a luminizing product and applying with a wet sponge. You can achieve a similar appearance by spritzing Glo Minerals Moist Hydration Mist ($14.99) over your makeup—this helps refresh your look and illuminate your visage. Dust Tigi Cosmetics Bronzer ($33.99) on temples and cheekbones to contour and add a sun-kissed glow.

And turquoise eye shadow? Definitely. That was the highlight of Monae’s gorgeous look, which featured a bright water line that made her entire complexion pop. You can emulate that look by applying the Flirt color from Tigi Cosmetics HD Eyeshadow Palette ($22.99) wet to line the lower lashes. Finish with minimal lips by smoothing Jane
Iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss
($22.99) in Soft Peach over your pout—its shimmery finish is instantly glamorizing

Quick Beauty Tip – Make Perfume Last All Day

quicktip-make-perfume-lastIn order to make your perfume last all day be sure to spray it on your wrists, behind your ears, the base of your throat, inside your elbow and behind your knees! On top of choosing the perfect spots, go against your usual tendencies and don’t rub the perfume in. Rubbing the skin together after application compromises the smell. Just spray on & let your skin take it from there!

If you want to carry perfume with you, try a travel size travalo perfume atomizer. It is small enough to be TSA approved & fit in any handbag.

Tutorial Tuesday – Gel Eyeliner

You will be shocked at how easy it is to create your own gel eyeliner without shelling out the extra cash. Hold any lighter to a typical pencil eyeliner for 2 seconds. Be careful not to exceed this time as eyeliner melts fast! Let the liner cool a bit and then apply. It will glide on extra smooth! TT-Gel-Liner

Fall Makeup Trends

  • The virtual opposite of the orange-y eye look is this purplish, brown style. Combine eyeshadows to create a perfect shadow on your lid to pull this one off. This will go with any fall outfit and can be dressed up or down.

Get Her Look – Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland plays the cute little airhead on Modern Family. The reason we’re so intrigued by her look is because she is in her 20’s and plays a teenager. Plus, she looks younger than her character even is! She must be doing something right. Here is how to shave years off of your age with makeup:

1. Exfoliate. We have said this a million times before and we will say it again. Exfoliate to give your skin a fresh, polished look. 2. Tone. Add a toner to remove any remaining impurities. This will ensure your skin appears smooth and flawless. 3 Moisturize. Add moisture back into your skin. You will want this as a base before adding makeup. This will also give your skin the underlying glow that it needs to appear years younger.

GTL-Sarah-Hyland-middle

4. Foundation. Use a tinted, moisturizing foundation as your base. This will start to give you some color while adding even more moisture. 5. Conceal. Use a brightening concealer under your eyes and to cover any dark spots or hyperpigmentation.  GTL-Sarah-Hyland-bottom 6. Eyeshadow. Use neutral tones for a younger look. The more natural you keep your colors the less heavy and aged your makeup will appear.

7. Blush. Finish off your look with a pretty pink blush. Keep it super light to give your self a dewy, flush look. Darker blush can make your cheekbones look accentuated giving you an older appearance. 8. Eyeliner. Use eyeliner for your top lid only. Keep it off the bottom to keep your skin clearer. 9. Lipstick. Finish your look with almost nude lips. Be sure to  use a lipstick with natural oils so your lips stay moisturized.

Quick Beauty Tip – Fake Freckles To Look Younger

quicktip-frecklesEveryone associates a freckly face with innocent youngster. Faux frecks are achieved by applying normal foundation over the bridge and nose and on the tops of the cheeks. Then, draw large, light, and closely packed freckles with eyeshadow. You can place additional dots on your T-zone with a pencil brush and shadow powder. Of course, to make the freckles look as natural as possible, you should aim for a scattered effect. We can’t take all the credit for this though, we originally saw the idea on one of my favs: bit.ly/10EocVl
