Couvre hair loss concealer is known for being a great concealer for thinning hair. The idea is, you find the closest match to your hair color and apply it on your scalp to reduce the contrast between your scalp and hair color (so people don’t see straight through thinning hair at your scalp). Couvre stays on through sweating or even swimming. The only way to get it out is with shampoo. However, this product is of interest to more people than just those with thinning hair. The dual-function product can actually be used to touch up the color of your roots at home between salon visits. It probably works best on hair that is dyed a darker color than your natural color but I don’t have any confirmation on that. Here are some tips to get the most out of using Couvre for root color touch-up.
- Choose the Couvre color closest to your processed color (as you would do for use on thinning hair).
- Set aside 10 minutes to apply Couvre and allow enough drying time.
- For best results, use a wet piece of foundation foam (get this at any drugstore) and use it to rub Couvre into your roots or hair part.
