Get the Look: Emma Stone at the Oscars

Emma Stone was one of the biggest winners on the Oscar’s night. Not only because of her very well deserved award, but also because of her perfect appearance on the red carpet. Emma’s makeup was very 1930 inspired, and believe it or not, is a very easy look to copy at home! We’ll show you the step-by-step process:

Start by preparing and moisturizing your face with the Karin Herzog Rose Face Cream 1.7 oz ($69.99) this cream gently removes impurities, curbs excess oil, and eliminates bacteria with a blend of refreshing botanicals.  It will also help you to achieve that lit-from-within glow

Next, apply bareMinerals MATTE Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($23.99) to get a flawless complexion. Applying a matte foundation will also help to reduce the appearance of pores and has a natural matte finish. Now, here’s where all that 1930s and/or pre-Raphaelite glamor comes into play: use the Youngblood Lunar Dust – Dusk ($21.99) to create a luminous lunar face glow.  Don’t forget to create a subtle contour and add a lot of pink blush with Tigi Cosmetics Glow Blush ($15.99) to enhance that natural glow.

Stone’s glittery golden bronze eye makeup can be achieved by first applying the Tigi Cosmetics Perfect Eyeshadow Base ($11.99) to increase wearability and it will also work as a highlighter to enhance brow bone. Now, with the Jane Iredale Eye Shere Liquid Eye Shadow ($11.99) in color Brown and champagne create a shimmery look on your lids. Remember, this make up is all about shining! Finish the eye by making a fine eyeliner with the Glo Minerals Precise Micro Eyeliner ($8.99) in black to give a subtle dramatic touch to your makeup.

For the lips, you want to give an outstanding touch to your face by choosing a bold color. For this, you can wear the Jane Iredale Lip Fixation ($24.99) in the tone “Desire” this product gives rich color that is long-lasting. Plus, it contains avocado oil in the lip gloss end helps soothe lips.

Absolutely gorgeous, right? and very easy to copy. Now you’re all set to look as bright as Emma Stone!

The Hottest Beauty Trends of Summer 2016

It’s the season of fresh. As summer approaches, we’re gearing up for three months of endless color, luminous skin, and even a few unexpected beauty twists. Here are the hottest trends of the moment, with a few of our favorite products to help you get the look.

Bold Lips814ec694965f13a39fe6eaccdb532130

From Zac Posen to Anna Sui, runway models brightened up the catwalk with their bolder-than-bold lips. What better way to punctuate your look this summer than with a bright lip? It’s the perfect way to show off some color without overdoing the rest of your face. Try Youngblood Mighty Shiny Lip Gel in Exposed ($19.99) for a fresh pop of color.

Blue Lids

723363b1521ce391e90c36e70f2407d8Blue eyeshadow? What is this, 1983? Believe it or not, though, the aquatic hue made quite a splash on the spring/summer 2016 runways. And rocking this raucous hue isn’t as tricky as you may think, especially if you opt for a product like the TIGI Cosmetics HD Quad Eyeshadow in Lush ($19.99). In addition to a brilliant blue, it contains three other mineral-infused shades that create the perfect day or night looks.

Undone Hair059b2f2447d72d6c629ea3c12274903d

While “messy” isn’t the usual look we strive for, we couldn’t help but fall for the slightly unkempt looks shown at Tracy Reese and Marc Jacobs. Hair was casually mussed, completely unfussy, and barely styled. And anything that simplifies our beauty routines is a definite yay! Achieve the look with Blow Pro Beach Blow Texturizing Mist ($18.93). Just run it through wet hair to show off those enviable beach waves. It contains Dead Sea salts, which help lend hair that slightly undone, roughed up look.

Dewy Skin

f2d935d4fdee5ee580743995a2e53907 It seems like every summer is the summer of flawless, dewy skin. The barely-there look is best achieved with a lightweight tinted moisturizer, the antithesis to your usual heavy foundation that may weigh your look down (and, let’s face it, sweat right off within minutes). bareMinerals Prime Time BB Primer-Cream ($23.99) covers all the necessary bases: It provides just enough coverage to minimize flaws, contains SPF 30 to combat harmful UV rays, and feels light and silky against skin.

Shimmery Finish

A little shine never hurts – just as long as it’s not a slick of oil messing with your T-zone. Taking inspiration from the glittery complexions spotted at Baja East and Alice + Olivia, apply the vibrant Glo Minerals Shimmer Brick in Luster ($20.99) all over your face for an instantly perked up visage. You can use this product anywhere, from your cheekbones to your eyelids.

Quick Beauty Tip – Use Shimmer As An Eye Enhancer

quicktip-highlight-inner-cornerThis quick beauty tip can come in handy year round!

In order to make eyes stand out, apply shimmer eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye. This technique has a brightening effect. It reduces the appearance of dark circles and is a great alternative to black eye liner around the eyes.

Try it out – day or night!

Stay beautiful!

Quick Beauty Tip – Traveling With Cosmetics

quicktip-traveling-with-cosmeticsTraveling this Summer? Even better, moving to a new house? Hopefully you haven’t been unfortunate enough to pack your favorite bronzer and eyeshadow only to find that it is cracked into a million shimmering pieces when you reach your destination. As seen here, the easiest quick fix is to lay a cotton pad or cotton ball flat on top of your cosmetics and close the case. This will keep the makeup in place and prevent breakage.

If you feel comfortable because your makeup already includes a pad, let me go one step further to recommend leaving those application pads OUT of your cases. They are great for when you’re on the go, but they tend to soak up the natural oils in cosmetics making them dry out before you can use them. Only use the cotton pad/ball technique for transporting your goods!

Tutorial Tuesday – How to use an eyeshadow palette

TT-Eyeshadow

Cosmetic companies do a great job of pairing stunning eyeshadow colors in a tempting palette. It is hard to choose one because they’re all just so gorgeous! When you make your decision and bring it home you have even more decisions to make… “how am I going to use all of these pretty colors on one eye?”. Here’s a simple tutorial – how to use an eyeshadow palette.

Use the lightest color as the base. Brush this color from the lid up to your brow. Use the darkest color in the crease of your eye. Use the accent color (in this case, the light pink) in the inner corner of your lid. Use the remaining color on your outer lid. Blend them together a bit. For long lasting eyeshadow, first apply a primer or eyeshadow base.

When To Replace Your Makeup

Attention! Pin this, print this, memorize this! It is every woman’s responsibility to know when to replace their makeup. If you keep makeup for longer, you put yourself at risk for infections. Stay fresh, clean and beautiful with this expiration guide!
