Fall Hairstyle Trends: Products from the Runway

It might be easy to feel intimidated by the dramatic hairstyles taking over your Instagram feed during this month’s upcoming Fashion Weeks, but that’s no excuse to get lazy with your look. We delved into the hottest hair trends of the Fall/Winter 2018 season and matched each style with the products you need to make them possible.

Trend 1: Slicked Back

Running late in the morning? No problem. You can lock in this fresh-out of the shower look in place by working a dollop of Oribe Creme for Style  through wet hair. This product’s firm yet flexible hold will ensure your look stays in place without looking stiff or hard to the touch. For those with thicker hair, coat a hairbrush with a light dusting of the Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray  and smooth the look to tame frizz and flyaways.

Trend 2: Textured Top Knot

Thank you Chanel for another quick, easy look perfect for anyone who can’t seem to break up with their snooze button. To achieve this tousled updo, spritz a good measure of TIGI Session Series Salt Spray  into damp hair before drying on low heat. This will add much-needed body and texture. Use your fingers to scrunch ends before winding hair into a loose bun at the crown of your head. Fasten with bobby pins and you’re good to go.

Trend 3: Turn Up the Volume

Big hair is back! Channel Jackie O with this rockabilly bouffant by smoothing a quarter sized amount of Agadir Argan Oil Volumizing Mousse Styling Formula  into wet hair. Loaded with vitamins, this moisturizing formula works to protect hair from heath and styling damage. For added volume, blow dry hair upside down on high heat using the Bio Ionic 10X UltraLight Speed Dryer . Tease hair back with a fine tooth comb and pin into place.

Trend 4: Flip Out

Sleek blow-outs will always be in style. We loved how Dior accentuated long layers by adding bouncy flips to the ends of models’ tresses. Add a nickel-sized amount of BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT Acai Daily Smoothing Serum  to towel-dried hair to lock in moisture. Blow dry hair on medium heat using a round brush, alternating pieces towards and away from the face for a more natural bounce. To finish, warm a small amount of Keratin Complex Shine Vibrant Shine Serum  between your palms and smooth gently over strands for a megawatt sheen.

Get This Look – New York Fashion Week

We have finally selected one of our favorite makeup looks from last week’s New York Fashion Week!

The winner is…

Herve Leger by Max Azria!!!

Fall-2014-NYFWThe makeup artist, Val Garland, wanted the makeup to reflect the futuristic and technological feel and look of the line.

The features of the look include a double-lined cat eye and a sleek, high ponytail. It was accented by a glossy lip and flawless skin.

Garland used airbrush makeup for the application of foundation and highlighter, gloss for the lips and a black liner.

To easily recreate the double-lined cat eye, we suggest using a gel or cream eyeliner like e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in black. The texture of a gel or cream eyeliner allows you to create defined and precise lines that are crucial for this look.

Begin by lining your top lid as if creating a normal cat eye – be sure to make it flick. You can then proceed in two ways:

1. Begin in the middle of the crease of your eye and connect it to the line you created previously

2. Begin from the end of the cat eye line and draw the second line towards the middle of your eye crease as in the the diagram below.
