Dark circles under your eyes are a sign of stress, sleep deprivation, partying too hard or all of the above! There are plenty of products that hide the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, but they only help if you apply them properly. Apply under eye concealer in a triangle under your eyes stopping near the end of your nose. Then blend. This makeup technique is way more effective than the dots we were taught to make around the eye!
Next time someone wants to give you their unwanted business card, don’t decline or toss it! Keep a collection of business cards in your vanity for mascara application. Since mascara should be applied last as a finishing touch, it often can create a smudgy mess. Avoid this by placing a business card right up against your lash line. Apply mascara as usual, only the excess makeup will smudge onto the card instead of your perfectly shadowed eyelids!
In order to make your perfume last all day be sure to spray it on your wrists, behind your ears, the base of your throat, inside your elbow and behind your knees! On top of choosing the perfect spots, go against your usual tendencies and don’t rub the perfume in. Rubbing the skin together after application compromises the smell. Just spray on & let your skin take it from there!
If you want to carry perfume with you, try a travel size travalo perfume atomizer. It is small enough to be TSA approved & fit in any handbag.
Thinking about an 80’s costume for Halloween this year? Or maybe you’re going to dress up as Daenerys Targaryen from The Game Of Thrones. Whichever way you go, full, gorgeous, crimped hair is an absolute must!
If you got rid of your crimper in the early 90’s with the rest of us you aren’t doomed! You can get the same crimped effect by sleeping overnight with your hair sectioned into small braids. In the morning, flat iron over the braids once or twice to let the creases set in. Then take the braids out and spray with a light hairspray.
Your result will be perfect Halloween hair!
We all want the false lashes but we hate the price of having to buy them for each occasion. Well, we have a simple trick to use with an item you can find right under your bathroom sink!
Have you ever chatted someone up and realized hours later that you had bright red lipstick all over your teeth? That is mega embarrassing and screams “hot mess”. Next time applying, or reapplying lipstick stick your finger in your mouth and pull it right out. This will swipe the excess lipstick from under your lips and prevent lipstick teeth. Remember this!
Today’s quick beauty tip is more like 5 in 1! Follow these steps to avoid dreaded bubbles in your manicure forever! 1. Swipe your nails clean with nail polish remover even if your nails aren’t painted. This will give you a clean canvas to work with. 2. If you moisturize, be sure to wipe the nails down before painting. This is great for your skin, but can leave residue that leads to bubbles on your nail. 3. Stop shaking the bottle before use. If you feel the need, take the bottle between the palms of your hands and swipe them back and forth. 4 & 5. Keep your coats thin and resist the urge to put nails in front of a fan or dryer. You want to ensure that the each layer of polish dries at the same time. If the top layer dries before the first, you may create bubbles.
Enjoy your perfect mani!
You may leave the house looking like a goddess, but give it a few hours in front of a computer screen or on the dance floor and you start to resemble rocky the raccoon. The simplest way to avoid becoming this furry little friend is to prime! Use a primer on your bottom lids. Typically, we prime our top lid before applying eye makeup, but a little bottom lid love will help keep your liner where it belongs.
It is certainly one of the happiest types of wrinkles you can have, but laugh lines are not as pleasant looking as they sound. The tiny creases that we get as we age from smiling and laughing around our mouths also tend to collect our foundation and bronzer making themselves even more apparent. In order to combat this buildup, apply foundation and bronzer, then puff out your cheeks and swipe the areas with a cotton swab. This will take out any excess makeup and allow you to live, love and LAUGH!
