Gel manicures are a hands on girl’s best friend! They last far longer and keep your nails strong and less prone to breakage. The downside is that they can be costly, and your local salon may not have the color that you want in gel polish. Here is how to recreate a gel manicure in any color ofnail polishyou want!
Step 1: Apply two coats of Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat
Step 2: Apply one coat of the nail polish color you want to rock for the next couple weeks followed by another coat of Gelous.
Step 3: After allowing the coats from Step 1 & 2 to dry, apply another coat of the color polish & finish it off with top coat.
Your friends will be super “gelous”! (Was that too cheesy?)
We see this look everywhere. When attending an elegant affair, but it is warm out or your dress calls for your hair to be pulled up from your shoulders and back from your face, try the top knot. We’ve seen this on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Julianne Hough, Kelly Osbourne & more. Julliane Hough pairs this look with pinned back bangs. You can choose this option if you have bangs. If not, add body and texture to hair by adding in a braid.
Start off with a french braid right in the middle of your head only going halfway to the crown & secure with a rubber band.
Then flip your whole head forward and grab it to make a high ponytail. It should be where you stopped the braid.
Hold the base of the ponytail and wrap the rest of your hair around as if you are going to make a bun. Doesn’t have to be perfect but make it symmetrical.
There you have it! A very nice Top Knot with a twist!
If you love nail art you have to master this simple and uber cute one! Step 1 – paint nails white. Step 2 – paint black triangular border. If you don’t have a steady hand, you can apply tiny triangles of painter’s tape on each nail. Step 3 – Add two black dots as buttons in the small point of the triangle. If you don’t have a dotting tool, use our at home dotting tool tutorial to create one. Step 4 – draw a small bow in the large end of the triangle. The best way to do this is with a dotting tool. Draw an x and then fill it in.
If keeping up with the Summer Beauty Trends has been breaking the bank, save on highlighting your hair this month by using the age old lemon juice technique! This may not give you the most predictable, and professional look, but if you have wavy or curly hair it can provide gorgeous and natural looking streaks! Here’s what you do:
Squeeze a few lemons into a bowl, strain seeds out. The amount of lemons to use depends on the length and amount of hair you want to highlight.
Pour lemon juice into a clean spray bottle.
Section out the pieces you want to highlight and start spritzing!
Once you have the desired amount of juice on your hair, step outside and soak up some UV rays for 30 minutes.
Caution: be extremely careful not to get any citrus on your hands or face. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying juice or you run the risk of getting phytophotodermatitis! And we can’t leave out the part where we remind you to apply sunscreen too!
After 30 minutes, head back inside and wash your hair normally. Be sure to use a deep conditioner to add the moisture back in that the sun and lemon juice has stripped. Enjoy your new look!
The Pretty Liars may not be beautiful on the inside but they sure look good on the outside! We found an outfit we just know little Aria Montgomery would wear. We paired a skin tight Gingam dress with an electric yellow crossbody bag and understated wedges. This number just screams her understated, classy meets sexy style.
The only thing more fun than buying a new cosmetic is buying a new cosmetic that can be used in more than one way! Use your favorite shade of lipstick as blush by applying a small amount to your pointer finger. Rub it together with your thumb to warm it up then apply it in circular motions to your cheeks. Be careful not to apply too much. A small dab will give you the perfect hue!
According to Time Magazine we are in the me…me…me generation also referred to as the millennials. This means were all about us with our facebook, twitter, and instagram accounts and of course all of those social networks wouldn’t be possible without the renowned selfies. Having just conquered the art of the selfie, I thought it was my duty to share my secrets. Your pictures are now circulating the web for everyone to see so we think it’s our duty to give you the tools to put your best face forward.
To take the perfect picture the first step is no foundation. Of course everyone’s impulse is to cake it on but according to celeb artist, Pati Dubroff, it actually accentuates lines, pores and dry patches. Instead, try using a matte primer, it prevents shine and minimizes pores. Then add a touch of concealer on any other visible spots you find on your face.
Now we want your eyes to pop! Bright eyes are a must for the selfie! Because selfies create bad lighting and grainy videos it ends up casting a shadow under your eye. Use an eye-brightening concealer or pen. Add a touch of it underneath your eye and blend it.
Moving to the picture perfect lip, go 3-D. Red lipsticks read too flat and the camera craves dimension. Instead, pick moisture pink or berry lip balm. This will give you more dimension and keep your lips from blending in with the rest of your face.
Next skip the eye shadow! Eyeshadows weigh down your eyelids. Instead use a liner it will emphasize the eyes without adding weight. Choose a dark grey or brown (black may be too harsh) and trace the liner along the top lids only!
How can we forget, your cheeks? For the selfie dewy cheeks create a nice glow so leave out the dull powders and apply a cream blush to the apples of your cheeks.
Now that you’re selfie superstar, your photo shoot is almost ready to start! One of the most important aspects of this picture is the angle. Avoid doubling your chin. A universally flattering angle is slightly above your face and having your face turned at an angle. Another tip is to pay attention to the lighting. Professional photographers suggest using indirect light as opposed to shining light directly on a subject. You can achieve this effect by shinning your light onto a wall or using a large white poster board to bounce the sunlight onto you. Probably the most important factor in conquering the perfect selfie is just RELAX. Taking a picture of yourself is supposed to be fun, not stressful. Plus you have the ability to take as many photos as you want and can delete the ones that aren’t post worthy! Now you’re ready to be the selfie superstar we talked about earlier! Be a photographer for the day and showcase the art of yourself and your own work!
